Assassination Classroom

You may not know this about me but I’m a huge manga fan and reader. I’ll pretty much read anything I can get my hands on and it doesn’t matter the genre. One of the great things about manga is that things that might be considered weird in typical books, are common in manga. They can still be weird at first but every manga has something really extra about it so you either get used to it or don’t read them. One of those weird manga’s is Assassination Classroom.

Assassination Classroom is about Class E which is considered the lowest of the classes and the rest of the student body makes it their job to make Class E miserable. Add an octopus-looking science experiment whose goal is to raise the scores of Class E while also teaching his students how to kill him by the end of the school year.

Weird, right? I got sucked in around book four or five and was so invested in the series that the last book actually made me cry. You get to see these students bond with one another and maybe even the teacher. You learn some interesting secrets and watch as the students are thrown some intriguing school assignments.

Their ultimate goal is to kill their instructor so they can earn a whole lot of money. There are some questionable moments and the instructor has some unsavory characteristics but in general wants his students to succeed.

I will look on this series fondly and would probably give all twenty-one volumes a collective four out of five star rating.

Check it out!
