First Blood

This show has everything I could want. It is based off of a short story by V.E. Schwab, there are vampires, monsters, teenage love, and warring factions. I binged this show in one fell swoop, giving me only five hours of sleep. I am usually not one for teen angst but I just could not get enough and I thought Calliope and Juliette were absolutely adorable. Sure, there were times when I was a bit confused and there are still questions that need to be answered, but I can only hope that things will be clearer in season two. I NEED the second season but seeing as how this show only just recently came out, I am going to have to exercise some patience.

Agave & Rye

To top off a lovely twenty-seventh birthday, the family and I went to Agave & Rye for my birthday dinner. This restaurant is a place for the taco lover. The restaurant sports gorgeous yet fun and small chandelier’s with graffiti-lined walls. I particularly enjoyed the taco called The Cheesy Amigo. They also had over seventy different tequila’s so my father had to try one. Aged and smooth, he enjoyed it. The music was awesome, the company was, of course, great, and my taco was cheesy greatness. I highly recommend checking this place out in Grandview.

Sunsets

I have always loved sunsets. They make me think of new beginnings. The day has ended and the next day becomes a fresh start. Some might say that the same could be said for sunrises but I have always been a night owl and I love the shifting of the wind from a hot day to a warm, breezy night. This is a picture of the sunset from my backyard.

Chicagoland Vampires

I’m sure most readers have that one series that they go back to when they are having trouble finding something new to read but also want a book they know they like. Chicagoland Vampires by Chloe Neill is one of mine. I’ve read this thirteen book series three times now and I still can’t seem to get enough of Merit and Ethan. They give me the romance I crave, the mystery I need, and the family and friends that I adore. If you are looking for a vampire heroine who kicks some serious butt, has a sorceress best friend, an unending hunger for delicious chocolate, and an adorable grandpa, then these are the books for you. Read them so then we can gush together over Ethan’s undeniable hotness.

Welcome!

This is the place to be if you like reading, food, animals, and travel. I am ecstatic to share my love of all these things and I hope this blog creates an online environment in which I can learn and connect with others. I can’t wait to get started!
